Hi. I’m Adam.

And I know exactly what to do. But in a much more real sense, I have no idea what to do. Because…

I failed as a CEO (you can read all about that here).

But I define “failure” as validated learning: learning the truth about which elements of your professional growth are working and which are just crazy. And what I validated was growth playbooks are not one-size-fits-all.

In the recent past, I was a highly accomplished executive and growth marketing expert who helped consumer startups launch, analyze, scale, and refine their marketing programs. I have over 13 years of experience leading and scaling hyper-growth companies from infancy to $2m to $135m+ in annualized revenue. I wrote a book on e-commerce retention that I’m quite proud of titled Welcome to the Cult (you can download a free copy here).

I’ve been featured in Digital Commerce 360, Mobile Marketing Magazine, and Martech Series.

I’ve spoken at eTail East, LeadCon’s Connect to Convert, and IRCE.

I was an early adopter of fantasy football (I started in 1995 and used local newspaper box scores to calculate results).

I was on the front page of The New York Times in 2002, protesting at a Congressional hearing over the second Iraq war.

I’ve been held up at gunpoint at a Sundanese checkpoint outside of Khartoum (I forgot my papers and thought I was going to die).
